I am Assistant Professor of English at the University of Utah. I’m the author of two books: Bad Writing in the Modernist Novel (forthcoming this year from Johns Hopkins University Press) and Grant Us Eyes: The Art of Paradox in Bloodborne. My work has appeared in Novel: A Forum on Fiction, Representations, Textual Practice, the LA Review of Books, and American Book Review, among other venues. I received my PhD from Stanford University in 2020 and my BA from Swarthmore College in 2011. I write about modernism, video games, and the history of literary interpretation. I also cohost the podcast Authors Die Twice with Bryan Counter.
