I am Assistant Professor of English at the University of Utah, and the author of Bad Writing in the Modernist Novel (currently under contract with Johns Hopkins University Press) and Grant Us Eyes: The Art of Paradox in Bloodborne. My work has appeared in Novel: A Forum on Fiction, Representations, Textual Practice, the LA Review of Books, and American Book Review, among other venues. I received my PhD from Stanford University in 2020 and my BA from Swarthmore College in 2011. I write about modernism, video games, and the history of literary interpretation. I also cohost the podcast Authors Die Twice with Bryan Counter.
